Annie North is calling on the Federal Government to strengthen its response to men’s violence against women, children and diverse communities by working in genuine partnership with specialist family violence services. Across the Loddon region, specialist services see the impact of family, sexual and gender-based violence every day. We know what helps victim-survivors move towards safety, recovery and independence. We also know where systems are failing, and where stronger national leadership is urgently needed.

This second edition of our Annie North Leadership Reflection marks and celebrates 50 Years of Deadly, the theme for this year’s National NAIDOC Week 2026.

"This is what meaningful collaboration looks like. When government, community housing, and the family violence sector work together in a meaningful way, women, children and young people have a stronger foundation for healing and recovery."

Annie North reflects on 10 since the Royal Commission into Family Violence in Victoria

As I commence my second week with the team at Annie North Inc, I am grateful for the warm welcome that I have received, and the privilege I have to be joining a feminist organisation committed to a vision where "all women and children live free from domestic and family violence and its consequences".
